Principal’s Message:
Dear Imai Families,
This week our students in grades 1-5 are taking their i-ready assessment in both reading and math. Yesterday and today we administered reading and on Thursday and Friday we will administer math. Our students were troopers logging in and taking their time reading the questions. Please continue to remind them to do their best and to take their time. It is an untimed test so no need to rush. Kindergarteners are going to take theirs at a later date.
Next Thursday is Back to School Night, this is an opportunity for you to learn about what your child is going to learn during the year. This is a parent event so please arrange childcare for your child. Be on the lookout for the schedule on your teacher’s newsletter at the end of the week.
Next week we will start distributing the volunteer form for those that are interested so please reach out to the office after 08/24. Once you are processed and ready to help out we have volunteer opportunities ready for you.
Medication Forms
If your child requires medication to be kept at school, please pick up medication release forms from the office during our first week of school and return ASAP (we cannot administer any medication without a doctor’s note).

School meals are free, but fill out the EzSchool Meals application to help your school
MVWSD will continue to provide free meals to all students as part of California’s universal meal program. Breakfast and lunches are available daily.
We ask you to please Apply at EzSchool Meals to help MVWSD receive additional funding to support students who are in need, and may help your family.
This Free and Reduced Price Meals benefit is not limited to meals only. If your child is eligible for free and/or reduced-price meals, your family could get medical benefits, housing benefits, utilities benefits and more.
Students who qualify for free and/or reduced-price meals may be eligible for P-EBT cards. The more applications your school gathers at the start of each school year, the more additional funding it can receive for all kinds of programs that help children at your school.

Help us continue the great work of making MVWSD a more equitable and inclusive community. Why MVEF Matters
Thanks to financial support from parents like you, the Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) ensures your child will have access to a competitive, well-rounded education that would not be possible without this additional funding. MVEF is a volunteer-driven, non-profit that raises funds to bring essential programs to all Mountain View Whisman School District schools. State and local school funding is not enough. School funding supports salaries, facilities, and core academic programs that meet state standards. OUR PTA AUCTION PARTY RETURNS - SAVE THE DATE!
The Imai PTA Auction Party is our biggest fundraiser of the year and a fun night for all. After a 2-year pandemic hiatus, we’re bringing it back and are excited to introduce all our new Imai parents to this wonderful tradition.
The auction party (adults only) will be on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 6:30pm, outdoors at Levi’s stadium. It’s free to attend, and the night includes food and drink and an auction of many great events and experiences for all to enjoy throughout the year. We hope you’ll join us!
