05/04/22 Imai Gazette

Principal’s Message:

Dear Imai Families,

Thank you for showering our staff with goodies during Teacher Appreciation week! We have an amazing group of teachers who go above and beyond so thank you for showing them how much they are appreciated.

Did you get a chance to give us your input on our new logo? If you haven’t it’s not too late. We want to hear from you so please fill out the form. Feedback is due at the end of the week so don’t delay. We will use the feedback to finalize the Eagle logo and share it with the community.

This week our upper grade students are doing their CAASPP math assessment. Please continue to encourage them to try their best and to take their time reading the questions. Next week the fifth graders will take their science test and we will start with make-ups so if your child was absent for any of the assessments, we will pull them to work on what they missed.

This year all  students in grades K-4 will return their chromebook at the end of the school year in order for the technology department to update them, clean them and replace broken parts. Please be on the lookout for the schedule. Fifth grade students will get to keep theirs or return it if attending private school next school year.

Have a wonderful rest of the week.

PTA NEWS:

EAGLEFEST is right around the corner!
Join us on Friday, May 13, 5-8:00pm for the return of our spring carnival! There’ll be lots of games, crafts, activities, music and food. Sponsored by Imai PTA, it’s free to attend for all Imai students and their families (with food for sale). Full details at imaipta.org/eaglefest.

· PARENTS, we need you! Eaglefest can’t run smoothly without loads of parent volunteers. Please sign up for at least one 30-minute shift to help supervise or manage activities and make it more fun for everyone. If everyone takes one shift, the work is light for everyone. The jobs are easy, and you can even sign up with a friend to make it even more memorable.

· STUDENTS who want to sing Karaoke (by themselves, with a friend or group) need to sign up in advance. Review DJ Purple’s full song list (or this short list of popular songs) and then SIGN UP HERE to reserve a spot. The DJ doesn't want to repeat songs, so review the sign-up sheet before picking your unique tune. Can’t wait to hear everyone sing!
