04/06/22 Imai Gazette

Principal’s Message:

 Dear Imai Families,

This was our first week picking up snacks and lunch in the MUR and even though we were really worried about changing the procedure so late in the year, everything seems to be going really well. Students were really excited about getting to select their fruit and vegetables from the salad bar. We are hoping that giving students the option of choosing their favorite fruit, vegetable and drink will reduce the amount of waste we were dealing with.

As many of you know, we have been dealing with an ongoing issue with termites in our library. While termites are not a danger to human health, I know that having bugs in the library is certainly not ideal. The library will continue to be closed through the end of the school year, but library activities will continue!  Ms. Kalb will set up an outdoor library till the end of the school year to enable students to check out books. Story time will continue to be virtual.

California law limits our use of pesticides, especially when students are present. This summer, treatment will start with tenting the library building and applying a pesticide.

On Thursday (4/7) your child will bring home a covid test kit, please make sure you administer it before coming back to school on Monday, 4/20. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe after a long awaited break.

Upcoming event: Principal’s Coffee on 4/22 at 8:30AM (register here)
