Principal’s Message:

Dear Imai Families,

Starting next Monday (4/4) students line up and pick up their food in the MUR which will open up to more food choices as well as a salad bar.  We will go over the procedure in the classrooms and give them extra time the first week until we master the new procedure. Open Campus Update

We are noticing an increase of students staying after school unsupervised, please remember that once the bell rings students must be picked up as we do not have after school supervision. Our campus is open 15 minutes after dismissal but students must come back with an adult if they want to play and must bring their own play equipment. Our four square balls and basketballs are only to be used during recess and lunch. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Aladdin the musical is this Saturday. Our students have been rehearsing for weeks and we can’t wait to see the show.  We’ll post pictures on Facebook over the weekend.

In case you missed the last Principal’s coffee.

COVID update: Masking, other protocols changing on March 28

MVWSD will further loosen restrictions due to changing state and county guidance. Please see the attached flyer for the highlights of changes beginning March 28. Both outdoor and indoor masking is strongly recommended (no longer required) for students and staff. Exceptions: Masks are required on buses for all, indoors for volunteers and preschoolers, and unvaccinated persons (including adults without a booster) must wear a mask for 10 days after exposure to a positive case. Masks are required indoors for sports and performing arts spectators, regardless of vaccination status.

Speaking respectfully about mask choices

As mask mandates change at MVWSD, it is important to respect the decisions of individuals and families as they choose to mask or not mask at school. Staff members will support students with respectful conversations on campus. We encourage you to talk with your children about your family’s choices, and about communicating empathy and understanding for others’ choices. For tips on how students can respectfully speak up and speak out, see this helpful infographic. We know our students will be upstanders and take care of each other!
